It seems to allow more "sound" out of the engine?

Just cut the tube and peel it away, so to say.... Takes about 10 minutes in the shop.. Another Cummins design that only lasted a few months before it was X-ed.. To bad, Recon picked it up...

Thanks Mike. The calculator on BD says I should have a prop just under 24" with a pitch just under 17 degrees. Probably too much to cut down on mine. |

Get the pyro no matter what you do. It will tell you if you are overloading the engine no matter what prop you have. One of the most important tools you can have with any boat, especially overpro..... |

If what you are looking for uses a 3/4" pipe thread, it´s the same unit that we use in the B series Cummins.. I would not recommend a 1000W heater unless you have good shore power and a thermosta..... |

Cleaner wax regularly. I wash the transom after each trip with Orr-Pine w/wax. Elbow grease is key. |

On&Off Cleaner should get it off. It has an acid base which is what is needed to cut though the cascium/magnesium salt build up at the waterline.

My book shows 1.460 for n70/non turbo. That injector is about normal for a -N marine engine. Some use n80, but that is big. |

1484 is for advanced CAM timing. If you advance the cam one tooth, then fuel lobe hits injector earlier, and fuel will inject earlier. So 1460 with std cam timing and 1484 with advanced cam timing w..... |

No harm from trying 1.484. If it results in late injection timing, then engine may be harder to start (actually should start fine) and lower power and more grey smoke at full load. |

Just guessing without a schematic. Going off your description, the starter battery is directly tied to the alternator provided the switch is closed. And the other two batteries go through the isolat..... |

No risk to alternator, provided there is somewhere for output to go, and going to a battery through an isolator provides that. So try it and see if alternator wakes up and starts charging. Some alte..... |

Well a big surprise! I took off the white wire and you guessed it, no voltage out of the alternator. Put it back and 14 volts so it looks like the 22SI is not self exciting or the remote sense ..... |

usually never have to replace seal unless engine has gone into an overheat condition and steam has distorted it. Just drain down coolant and replace stat. Be mindful when refilling coolant, ..... |

The old throttle control was a round disc with a plate that was tightened down to create friction to stop creep. There is only a few ways to solve problem. You have to create friction either at cable ..... |

Friction just plain didn´t work. I applied enough to almost stop the lever from creeping back and that was enough to break the control cable.

Only adjustments are with injection pump shimming and governor set up. Neither are hard but do require a depth micrometer to accomplish. Depending on age of your engine you may need to also change gov..... |
