I am looking at removing the 318 Chryslers from my boat and putting in some diesel engines. Does anyone know of a good diesel engine that would be a good replacement for this boat? It is a 1968 32´ Lu..... |

It would take a lot of money, far more than the boat is worth. I´d guess about $50 - 60k minimum by the time you do all fuel syatems, struts and shafts. For that money you could find a very nice newer..... |

The 318´s run great so they dont need a rebuild. I am just in the mist of doing a major winter remodel, well lets call it last 2 or 3 winter remodels. I am going to pull the 318´s to repaint th..... |

Does anyone know much about the Yanmar 4LH 240 hp engine. After searching around that looks like it might be a good replacement.
Any thoughts? |

I am just completing a gas to diesel repower of a 1990 pacemaker 36 (454 gassers to twim b series cummins)
Understand one thing and that is that it is considerably bigger job then you imagine....... |

I repowered with Yanmar 4LHA 240´s three years ago in a 28´Bertram. Great engines, but no longer available due to emission requirements. Seaboard Marine has what might be the last two for sale right..... |

I found a Luhrs today in Alamitos shipyard that did the same repower I want to do. Remove 318´s and put Yanmars in. They used the Yanmar 140´s but I think I will put bigger in. The guy said it cost ne..... |

If you can find the LHA240 engines used, good luck. New even better. Please be aware... you need $70k IF you want a great outcome. Less... you get a lesser outcome. There are no cheap good repowe..... |
