Well, I checked the adjusted the valves. Three of them were off by a very small amount. Spec is 0.40 mm , they were from 0.35 to 0.45 mm so I adjusted them all to spec. I posted a second youtube video..... |

Try using a mechanical stethoscope to locate the noise.

I have a DP-A2 Duoprop outdrive which exhausts thru the lower unit (not thru the prop).
I only tried loosening the fuel nuts for cylinders 4-5-6, and each one caused the motor to run roughe..... |

Larry,
When it does start, does it take a few cranks or does it fire right away? Have you considered a weak lift pump? The engine will run with a weak pump but starting would be affected.

I have Targa 27.1 and VP KAD300 700hrs on it. Problem is that its REV only 3600RPM. I checked boost pressure with 2persons and 200liters diesel:

I don´t think you need special Volvo tools to time the engine/pump.
You need a metric dial indicator with extensions and holders, such as:
