I am guessing that the hot side of your gauges was wired to the big terminal on the solenoid That is the terminal that the battery is hooked to. I would check around that terminal because you may ha..... |

If the wire that powers the EMS panel was off, there would be no display. I suspect a voltage surge has damaged the EMS main unit. Try swapping main unit from the port engine. If the unit is damaged, ..... |

I went to the boat this morning and I swapped the pigtail/harness from the Stbd engine to the Port gauge cluster, started the Stbd engine, and the Port gauge clus..... |

In a word no.
The EMS display either works or not. The data transmitted to this display is CDL so by swapping port to stbd you have proved the engine ECU and wiring is good.It looks like you need a ..... |

I believe that is fine for cruise speed I would be more interested in what the wide open throttle temps were. There is quite a bit of discussion in the forum on the subject. Bottom line is these engin..... |

I have a pair of 660 3196´s, 2001 vintage. They are E models. Besides the electronic readout and no manual gauges is the fuel delivery, metering, valve train ann the same as a TA? Any benefit to this ..... |

Bill,
I am slightly confused with your post. When you refer to an "E" model I think you are referring to the rating as Cat never made a 3196E. Also the 3196 is a TA which means it is a tu..... |

Bill,
The 3196 differs very little to a 2010 Caterpillar electronic engine except for a newer more powerful ECU and the ability to transmit a J1939 CanBus data stream to modern displays. |
