I have a 1996 Yanmar 6LY-STE with 1500 hours run time.
I was missing about 200 rpms at WOT so I pulled the injectors to have the pressure tested.

I found than air was leaking into the diesel from my first filter a Racor 245.
I have now bypassed the filter.
The injector 4 was not making a knocking sound indicating that it delivered fuel.

You have to go back and see what you have done. You started with 200 rpm missing. You shim up your old nozzles. Then you had only 1700 rpm. Unless you have pulled nozzles pipes to hard or had a lot of..... |

Thanks for good advice, I will take the pump and nozzles to a diesel shop and perhaps get a rebuilt diesel pump.
Any tips of where to get used Yanmar parts?
I also would like an exhaust bend. |

There will also be a derating for increaded intake air temperature. Air density will decrease by as much as 10%. look here.

Some thoughts. The engine has an output rated at ISO 8665 and this has 40c/104F which diesel temperature. To lower your temperature from 68 to deg would give about 5.4% performance increase or approxi..... |

HELP!!
PROBLEM: Engine will only reach 1500 RPM when in gear but will reach 3500 when not in gear.
The engine is new its a by260 hp

I took my starter off my SB8 to service solenoid and found that it has a gasket and it had lube oil in it. Is this normal as it has a "wet clutch"? |
