This is what I´d do..
Since you have high vac so soon again, you need to determine whether you have clogged a filter again (not likely as you checked it) , OR the CRUD is clogging a suc..... |

Sounds like a clogged tank pickup. Clean filter and yet still high vacuum. Some builders put screens on the pickup (why???) and if it clogs and tank pickup is not accessible, you´re kinda screwed. ..... |

I removed the fuel pick-up and it was as clean as the day it went in! Only 3/8 diameter but no sign of sludge. The pipe is plastic so flexible enough to be removed.

No need for a siphon break, or non return valve (whatever it may be called) on a diesel boat. That stuff is for gassers. Put a regular hose barb in its place. |

Since you have gone this far- add a sump or a valve at the bottom of the tank, that way you can dump a bad batch of fuel or polish it before it hits the mains. An old commercial trick is to buy shitty..... |

My advice is to pull the Inj Pump and get it to a Pump Room to rum it up sounds like you have a control rod (rack) problem in the Gov Housing, They will run it up and see the fuel deliveries, badly wo..... |

Only ones with same housing attached would be from MD2B,MD3B,MD11C orMD17C. The gear section aft of housing is the same on MD5,MD6B,MD7. You can change front housing to fit MD11. |

Find the solenoid coil wire on the starter solenoid. Crank engine. Check if volts are present on coil terminal. There should not once start button is released.

If he lost gear while docking, he probably did not fry the clutches. So if it possible to fix the broken bolt and put it back together, it´s probably worth a go.

Oil pressure regulator ? Not to be excluded but then you would have low oil pressure even at high rpm.
If the oil pressure keeps rpm dependant, it is more likely the oil viscosity. Too fluid when hot..... |

The problem is in the piston cooling valve, probably some dirt or debris in it causing a small leak.

Start cleaning electrical connections between the battery and the starter and the ground. Could also be the starter switch. But clean up and tighten up all the connections first.

Interesting. You seem to be fine at 20 psi that I also have. You refer to oil temp at 200F? I stay there also.
No big deal to change pressure relief valve as long as you can get underneath engine.

Bruce, no reset. More likely that the foam settle, if that is what it is and at idle not much foam, with some excess oil it has been reported before that it can lower pressure - the full story is not ..... |
