I´ve seen my engines do this when the fuel filters are clogged. Easy enough to pull the filter and have a look or just replace the primary and secondary filters to eliminate that as a possible cause...... |

White smoke is typically unburnt fuel or engine coolant. If your not loosing coolant it´s probably fuel. Check to see if you have a cylinder that isn´t firing, you might be able to feel the e..... |

It is definitely unburned fuel, not coolant. The white smoke is heavy, smells heavily and remains much longer than water vapor. We were lucky to have some no-wind weather, so it was very easy to notic..... |

Do a leak down test on that bank. Rocker shaft has to come out to pull injectors, so pull rocker shaft and the two suspect injectors. Just shoot compressed air in injector hole. If it blows out the..... |

It is a pain to get that adapter out of the way. you need to disassemble some of the clamps and fuel lines to get adapter to slide enough.

Just got out the second Injector and it seems to be the head gasket.
When putting air on one cylinder it comes out the other cylinders injector hole immediately without much back pressure on the pump..... |

I had the same thing happen a year ago on the same engines @ 4000 hours. Gasket went between the cylinders so no coolant was involved.

Cranking with low voltage will cause starter armature to overheat and throw solder off commutator connections. Tune up on solenoid connections should include file contact ends on posts and turn strike..... |

Coolant in the crankcase could come from: cylinder head gasket, cylinder head or block, aftercooler, exhaust manifold or turbo turbine housing. Source of coolant will need to be determined first. |

I talked to my local marina guy, who agreed that the racor service was probably not the problem. He had a similar problem on a 3208 425 hp, and it turned out to be the rack not returning totally after..... |

if your motors have same setup as lower hp 3208s, oil capacity is 12 qts. IMO that´s not a whole lot for 640+ cubic inch motors. I never went more than 100 hrs on my 3208s. Manufacturer´s recommendati..... |

You dont report the hP of your engines weightof your boat or the speed you ran but it would be easy to use 250 gal or a lot more in 15 hours depending how fast you were going. |

At 11 knots you aren’t on plane but aren’t in displacement mode either. Bow is up but speed is still slow, boat is pushing a lot of water.
