#1 Level-2 Member Captjohn   I´ve seen my engines do this when the fuel filters are clogged. Easy enough to pull the filter and have a look or just replace the primary and secondary filters to eliminate that as a possible cause......

#13 Level-1 Member Andre   Just got out the second Injector and it seems to be the head gasket. When putting air on one cylinder it comes out the other cylinders injector hole immediately without much back pressure on the pump.....

#4 Level-1 Member Fishn2day   Cranking with low voltage will cause starter armature to overheat and throw solder off commutator connections. Tune up on solenoid connections should include file contact ends on posts and turn strike.....

#1 Level-3 Member Dave   Coolant in the crankcase could come from: cylinder head gasket, cylinder head or block, aftercooler, exhaust manifold or turbo turbine housing. Source of coolant will need to be determined first.

Guest Mark   Just recently, both engines are loosing fuel prime when starting. The engines used to start at the touch of the switch, now they crank 2-3 seconds before starting. I know this doesn´t sound terrible, .....

#3 Guest Mark   I talked to my local marina guy, who agreed that the racor service was probably not the problem. He had a similar problem on a 3208 425 hp, and it turned out to be the rack not returning totally after.....

Level-1 Member Atuk   I was going from St Thomas to Puerto Rico cat 3196 1999 at 1825rpm most of the trip but lost power twice down to 1350 on both engines. The engines did not shut down or decrease the RPMs to less than 1.....

#1 Level-1 Member Fishn2day   if your motors have same setup as lower hp 3208s, oil capacity is 12 qts. IMO that´s not a whole lot for 640+ cubic inch motors. I never went more than 100 hrs on my 3208s. Manufacturer´s recommendati.....
