#1 Level-3 Member Ski in NC   Motor is definitely saveable. You need a fresh battery, a functioning starter, test leads with alligator clips, a jug of fuel, squeeze bulb line, and tools to pull injectors. Don´t worry about alter.....

#3 Level-3 Member Ski in NC   To pull injectors you need a 17mm open end for fuel lines, 10mm open or combo for return lines, and I think a 22mm deepwell socket for the injector hold down nut (anyone confirm, I´m away from my shop.....

Level-1 Member Timjet   I have a ´97 330 6BTA M-3 Diamond series serial #: 45504241 on a boat I just bought and noticed a oil leak somewhere near the aft underneath portion of the engine. The leak is not noticeable at low rp.....

#1 Level-1 Member Maka Koa   You can install FLOSCANS. I have found that for my boat (Luhrs 32´) the published fuel burn numbers seem pretty accurate.

#1 Level-3 Member Ski in NC   Is this the mechanical sync box with rotating tach cables? If so, there is no adjustment. It (usually) either works accurately, or not at all. Problem is likely something in the mechanically driven.....

#2 Level-1 Member Paulyoinct   Hi Ski No this is a electronic sync, I think the problem is with the engine tach. I think these cummins 6bta´s pick up the tach off the alternator. The sync is wired into both engine tachs comming o.....

#2 Level-1 Member Maka Koa   That sounds adequate. I suspect that my alternator (non-replaced engine) may be bad as it doesn´t appear to be charging the batteries when running. My volt meter on the upper station seems to cycl.....

Level-1 Member 8mpe   I am replacing the 72C V-drive on my 1992 6BT5.9 Cummins, engine serial number 44762059. While the engine and transmission are out, I may as well replace the damper plate. It rattled a little at idl.....

Guest Frank   Here is a story of a Tension assembly failure , what´s your opinion? The failure was from the tension assembly and not the idler pulley. I was told by my Cummins dealer, who did the previous work .....
