I repowered my 28 Topaz with the TAMD40´s 200 hp. The boat cruises at 25 knots at 3200 rpm. At 3000 rpm I am cruising at 19-20kts. I prefer to run at 3000 because it steers better. The boat ..... |

I started comparing the cost for a repower of my Topaz. Many of you have had the same shell shock. The new engines are so expensive. $50,000.00 for two engines and transmissions is hard to justify.

I see most of the posts point towards yanmar 240 and volvo 230. Are there other options? I know Carolina Classic uses Cummins in their 28. Is a 4B250 an option? One reason I ask is that all quotes..... |
