I was only able to run my Cat 3116ta engines 25 hours this season. Should I still change oil and filters before layup this fall? |

Odd thing, Rotella 1 gal jug does not have cf-4 rating only CF,CF-2 while one quart says CF-4. Anyone know why?

I purchased a boat that has a pair of low hour (400), non French, 1996 vintage, 300HP 3116 CATS.
What is the proper lube oil to use. The Owners manual says multiviscosity 15W-30 or 40.

A couple weeks ago i ran my boat about 400 miles ran perfectly. 2 weeks later after sitting i checked my port oil level showed about 3/4 inch above the high mark. I was sure i didn´t put too much oil ..... |

Dave, My 3116/350 hp engines have run 185/190 at 2350 all summer. Last trip offshore I saw 190/195 on port 190 on starboard..Also saw our water temp up to 77/79 degrees along with 90 degree humid air...... |
