#1 Level-1 Member tomG   Sounds like you better figure out where the water came from and why. Do you have a sea water cooled fuel heat exchanger? Deck fills, leaks on tank tops, bad shore fuel etc can all be suspects. Filters.....

#1 Level-2 Member David   If you have owned a 6LP-STP, I can´t imagine a DTE would be very different. Lower hp and possibly no zincs (IDK). My 4LH-DTE has no zincs. The only thing that comes to mind is the valve guide is.....

#1 Level-1 Member tomG   The Perkins 6354M NA is rated at 113 HP at 2500 RPM for commercial operation according to the boat diesel engine section. I´d suggest stick with that, 2800 RPM seems a bit aggressive for a nearl.....

#1 Level-1 Member C. Herman   If you are the owner of the boat, Your local CAT dealer can access the history of the engines for work that was performed by CAT. So if CAT rebuilt the engines, They will have record of it. Not sure i.....

#6 Level-3 Member dave   Both engines were built October 2000. It´s common practice to reset engine ECM hours to zero after a rebuild. The owner of record needs to contact the local Cat dealer to obtain any service reco.....

#10 Level-3 Member dave   That is completely up to the dealer. Some dealers will reset ECM hours at overhaul. Some will not. If hours are reset, there should be a record of original hours. Why is this a problem?

#11 Level-1 Member ozarkdevil   The only problem is not really knowing the true hrs. The boat is advertised to have 900 + hours but engine gauges say 327 +- and the ECM will say something different at survey time. Tim Caruso surveye.....

#2 Level-2 Member Fissues   I´ve never had to add more than 5 gallons on any oil change. I would pump some out. Not a good thing to have too much in there. Mind you have to wait an hour after running to get an accurate re.....
